SRFC Women enjoy their second home fixture

On a sun soaked Friday evening a large and enthusiastic crowd of home supporters enjoyed watching Strathendrick Ladies chalk up another win in their debut season. The ladies demonstrated again, their willingness to play an expansive running game putting Hillfoots Vixens to the sword 35-20 - Making it 2 wins from 2 at home.

Strathendrick ladies started well, showing fluency in attack, and were rewarded with a score in the opening exchanges. Early indications were that it was going to be a hard match for the opposition despite their relative experience and apparent strength.

After the initial quarter was dominated by Strathendrick, the visitors rallied and put the home team under considerable pressure for the remainder of the game. They showed off some impressive close quarter driving and off-loading; but the defensive efforts of the home team secured possession at the vital moments; and Strathendrick ladies were able to punish the opposition with their handling ability and fast counter attacking play.

Thanks go to the wonderful turnout of home supporters cheering the team on and for the bbq that was enjoyed by all. The home crowd celebrations carried on long after sunset as the home team wrapped up back to back home wins in their debut season. Final score was 35-20 with tries scored by

Murrin 2, Becca MacFarlane 2, Alicia 1, Bridget 1 and Rebecca 1.
