Strathendrick U13 Boys – Match Report

What a game! What a win!

The Strathendrick U13 boys started the game strongly, with our first try attempt held up right on the line. The boys kept the pressure on, and after some excellent attacking play, Hamish Maxwell broke through to score our first try under the posts. Archie MacKinnon calmly converted, giving Strathendrick a 7–0 lead.

It wasn’t long before Hamish was over the line again, scoring his second try of the game, with Archie once again adding the conversion to make it 14–0.

The opposition fought back strongly, with Stew Mel scoring and converting their first try to bring the half-time score to 14–7.

Stew Mel came out firing in the second half, scoring two further tries to turn the game around and put Strathendrick behind 14–19.

But the Strathendrick boys weren’t giving up! They showed incredible grit, determination and teamwork, producing some outstanding rucking and powerful offensive ball carrying.

With the pressure mounting, Berkley Rowthorn finally crossed the line to score Strathendrick’s third try. Once again, Archie MacKinnon stepped up and converted, taking the score to 21–19.

From being 5 points behind, the boys dug deep and fought their way back to secure a fantastic victory.

A brilliant performance from our fantastic U13 boys. Their determination, teamwork and never-give-up attitude were outstanding.
