Sunday, Strathendrick RFC hosted a major rugby festival that included U12 and U14 girls clubs from across Scotland. Despite the UK under a severe weather warning, the sun shining in Fintry helped to kicked off the Festival and the early morning frost faded from memory.
Strathendrick U14 hosted a series of full pitch and highly competitive fixtures for clubs ranging from Biggar from the South; Garioch, Ellon, Deeside and Strathmore from the North, Ayr, Cambuslang and Marr from the West and more local clubs consisting of Dundee and Falkirk from the Caledonia Midlands region. The skill and physicality of rugby was on full display across all fixtures with many resulting in low scores; a strong reflection of the intensive defense on display.
The day ended with a series of happy girls leaving with an appreciation for the high quality of rugby and the opportunity to experience full pitch game play. A special thanks was communicated by several clubs to the Strathendrick community for hosting a wonderful event. A testament to the amazing parents and volunteers at the club.
