Sunday, Strathendrick RFC hosted a major rugby festival that included U12 and U14 girls clubs from across Scotland. Despite the UK under a severe weather warning, the sun shining in Fintry helped to kicked off the Festival and the early morning frost faded from memory.
The Strathendrick U12s welcomed Cambuslang, Biggar, Whitecraigs, Stirling County, Marr, Ayr, Dundee and Ellon. From the first whistle there was some fantastic rugby on show from all of the girls. The festival highlighted the level of skill, experience and enthusiasm of U12 girls across Scotland. Players from different clubs joined together to form super teams and new friendships were quickly formed. Strathendrick welcomed players from Stirling County and Ellon to their squad and the team gelled quickly and showed some excellent skill on the pitch. All teams played 60 minutes of rugby…… our goals were achieved with maximum game play for all!
